Beacon Legal
Last updated: May 24, 2026
These terms govern your use of Beacon, provided by OneToLive, Inc. For details about how we handle account and health information, review our HIPAA Privacy Policy.
Beacon, provided by OneToLive, Inc., helps caregivers and care recipients organize records, tasks, appointments, and health-related logistics. Beacon is a care coordination service. It is not a clinician, an electronic health record, an emergency service, or a substitute for professional medical, legal, or insurance advice.
By creating an account or otherwise using Beacon, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our HIPAA Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Beacon. If you use Beacon on behalf of another person, you confirm that you are authorized to act for that person under applicable law and that they have consented to your role to the extent required.
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Beacon account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure, for the activity that occurs under your account, and for the accuracy of the information you provide. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Beacon is built around explicit family access and caregiver permissions. A caregiver may only access care-recipient information after the required authorization flow has been completed. We may limit, suspend, or revoke access when authorization is missing, withdrawn, expired, disputed, or appears inconsistent with our safeguards.
Beacon uses artificial intelligence and other automated tools to draft document summaries, surface health insights from records, prepare calendar items and reminders, and assist caregivers with coordination tasks. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. Treat it as a starting point you must review. You are responsible for verifying any AI-assisted content—including patient, dates, dosages, recurrence, and contact details—before you save it, share it, act on it, or communicate it to a clinician or family member. Beacon may label AI-generated content; the absence of a label does not mean content was prepared without automated assistance.
Beacon may receive, display, summarize, and store protected health information, records, lab and visit data, medications, and related metadata that you or a connected provider supply. You agree to use this information only for legitimate care coordination and family support, and only for care recipients you are authorized to support.
Beacon does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or make coverage determinations, and it does not provide legal advice. Nothing produced by Beacon—whether AI-assisted or human-reviewed—replaces the judgment of a licensed clinician, attorney, or other professional. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately. Do not use Beacon to report urgent or life-threatening situations.
You agree not to misuse Beacon. You will not attempt to access data you are not authorized to view, impersonate another person, interfere with platform availability, attempt to reverse engineer the service, scrape data at scale, use Beacon to develop a competing service, or use Beacon in violation of applicable privacy, healthcare, consumer-protection, or export laws.
You retain ownership of the records, documents, and information you provide. You grant OneToLive, Inc. a limited license to host, transmit, display, process, and create operational derivatives of that content for the purpose of providing Beacon to you and the people you authorize. OneToLive, Inc. does not use identifiable protected health information to train general-purpose AI models. Any further use—such as research with de-identified data—is described in our HIPAA Privacy Policy.
Beacon integrates with third-party identity, messaging, records, telehealth, payment, and AI providers. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies, and their availability or behavior may affect parts of your experience. Where required, OneToLive, Inc. enters into Business Associate Agreements with vendors that handle protected health information on our behalf.
Beacon, the Beacon name and logo, the OneToLive, Inc. name, and the underlying software, models, designs, and content provided by us are owned by OneToLive, Inc. or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights granted in these terms, no other rights are transferred to you.
Beacon is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation, and we do not warrant that AI-assisted output will be accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OneToLive, Inc. disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OneToLive, Inc. and its affiliates, officers, employees, and vendors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or care decisions made in reliance on the service. Our total liability arising out of or related to Beacon will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars.
You agree to defend and indemnify OneToLive, Inc. against claims arising from your misuse of Beacon, your violation of these terms, your violation of applicable law, or your unauthorized access to or sharing of another person’s information through the service.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you have violated these terms, if continued access would create legal or safety risk, or if we discontinue a feature or the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including content licenses already granted, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute-resolution terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and OneToLive, Inc. consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section limits either party’s right to seek injunctive relief in any competent court.
We may update these terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will provide notice in-product, by email, or by updating the date below. Your continued use of Beacon after an update means you accept the revised terms.
