I have spent 20 years building healthcare platforms — the kind that hospitals, payers, and consumer health companies run on. I have led engineering through three healthcare exits: R1 RCM's IPO, Yaro's acquisition by Virgin Pulse, and Resilience Lab's acquisition by Cerebral. Most recently, I led engineering at Cerebral. Today, I am building Beacon full-time. The platforms I have helped build have served more than 25 million annual patient visits. I hold a U.S. patent for a self-learning system that predicts denial risk in healthcare revenue cycle — filed in 2009, before AI became a category.

Every healthcare system I have built was designed for the institution. Beacon is the first one I am building for the family doing the work — the daughter or son who is also a parent, also has a job, and also has a phone full of group chats trying to keep mom's care from falling through the cracks. I have been that adult son coordinating care for my own parents, watching them navigate fragmented providers, confusing EOBs, and hospital discharges nobody really prepared us for. I watched friends and colleagues do the same.

The pattern was always the same: the people who most need to focus on healing are also the ones expected to hold the system together. That family has 53 million people in it. Nobody has built them the right tool.
